Intermediate Accounting-Case Study Guidelines:
As discussed in the class, you have AED 250,000 to start your own business. Prepare the forecasted Financial Statement and draft a strategy for your business for the initial 3 years.
- Think about the small business idea (use the website SMEDA), make a strategy and plan the draft of your case study accordingly.
- The Case study should comprise of the following details regardless of the number of pages.
- Overview of the Company.
- Introduction and Importance of Financial Statement
- Carefully prepare the five Components of Financial statement, keeping in mind that you have AED 250,000 for the financing of the Case Study Conclusion.
- The deadline for submission of the Case Study is 23rd April 2018.
- The Case study Marks will be categorized as follows:
- Overview of the Company. [2 Marks]
- Introduction and Importance of Financial Statement [4 Marks]
- Prepare the five Components of Financial statement. [10 Marks]
- Conclusion [2 Marks]
- Q/A Session [8 Marks]
Note: The Case Study can be submitted individually as well as in a group of two. Further, the Q&A session will be linked to all the GAAP principles and standards that are discussed in the class.

Cover Page: Your paper topic, name and student ID#, the course name, and date.
Introduction:
Describe goals/objectives of your paper. Tell us why you are interested in the topic and what you hope to cover. You should also describe the type of sources you are using.
For those doing Question 2 and 3, you need Geographical information, location of your subject, and the ethnic group(s). A map or other illustration is essential here.
Body:
This is where you begin your main discussion. For organization or orderliness of your paper, I will encourage you use sub-headings, especially if you are covering different issues or sections.
Conclusion:
This is where you rap up your discussion. Tell us your findings. What have you learned or what knowledge your research has provided.
In-text citation:
Please, use in text citation. Avoid plagiarism. Provide your sources (author’s last name, year of publication, and page #). For example, “…. similar in some respects to the Ile-Ife” (Obayemi 1972:89); As Obayemi (1983) has pointed out ……
Figures/Maps: Make sure you number your maps and figures within the text and place them at the end of your paper. Don’t copy-paste pictures/figures within text but reference them as in-text citation. Also, remember to put caption on your maps/figures for easy reference.
