CPCCBC4004A: Assessment 2
What you have to do
Refer to project 1.
When estimating, quantities are measured in different units often depending on how it is purchased. The common units of measure used are:
m = metres m2 = square metres m3 = cubic metres No = number t = tonnes
Item = an allowance of $ generally not involving a measured quantity and rate
Note: Generally measure lengths areas & volumes to 2 decimal places, and roundup final quantities to next whole number. With weight measure and calculate to 2 decimal places but don’t roundup.
For this assessment component you are required to take off quantities of materials from the plans detailing the cottage in Project 1. The quantities are to be recorded on P10 paper as shown below:
Item | Particulars | Unit | Quantity | Rate | $ C |
1 | 90×45 F7 Radiata pine framing | m | 33 | ||
6/5.4 32.4 |
Note: you are describing, measuring and recording the quantities needed to complete the construction including wastage. This is also known by estimators as bill measure and extend. You do not have to price the quantities in this assessment.
