In this activity you will create an original story suitable to promote social skills (character and prosocial development). Select a theme appropriate for young children and which can also be shared using puppet characters. Create the story and be creative in the presentation of the theme. Along with the story create a description about the story including the following: • Title of the story and appropriate theme and topic • Goal and learning objectives (Including related ELL specific language arts standards) • State the Common Core and Social Studies Standards targeted through the story • Names and role of puppet characters in promoting character and prosocial development • Modifications for children with special needs • Modifications/adaptations for English language learners (ELL) • Home connections (activities for parents)
Implement your story and submit a two-page commentary with the reactions of the children. Include suggestions for anyone choosing to implement your story.
