RESEARCH OR INTERVIEW PAPER INSTRUCTIONS
Managerial Economics Research Paper
Research on a managerial economic analysis of prison privatization in the United States
Your paper will be at least 7 double-spaced pages for the main content (not including the cover page and reference page).
1. A research paper
Steps for writing the research paper:
a) Choose a topic in managerial economics.
b) Submit the topic and the outline of the paper to the instructor anytime for approval.
c) A minimum of 15 references/journals besides the textbook are required.
As this research paper is probably unlike others you have written, please read these instructions very carefully.
The instructions include the purpose of the paper, the content of the paper, and the format of the paper you must follow. The purpose of the instructions is to provide further guidance so that you aware of what is expected and know how to proceed. This is particularly important because what is expected in the research paper may be different from what many of you are used to, so I believe it is important to give you a clear set of instructions, which are attached.
I also recommend to get started soon. So please read the instructions carefully and let me know if there is anything that is not clear. Also, given I have added more explicit instructions regarding the content of the paper I have amended the grading rubric, which is also attached. The new rubric is the same as what is provided in the syllabus except it breaks down the content portion into two parts.
Also to ensure the proper format is used I have provided a template for the research paper that must be used. It is also attached.
Finally, to ensure everyone is making adequate progress, the following will be used:
Assignment
Problem statement of the paper submitted for approval along with the conceptual framework you will use.
The data source identified along with the methodology of how the data is being used to address the problem statement of the paper.
