Deeply dig into Woodward in order to prepare an intellectual history of the subject. Read at least 4 major works by the historian plus several additional journal articles and/or book chapters. The bottom line is that you will be examining the historian’s contribution to history. What kind of history does he write? Who were the principle mentors of your historian? Does he/she belong to any recognizable historical school. Has he established an historiographical school or has he trained any prominent historians who have written about their mentor professor? Included in the paper should be an examination/analysis of each of the major works you have read. Also, include ideas inherited, came up with, and ideas have taken from other historians. Include who him or who he was mentored by, and who he influenced and mentored.
