Given the intense competition for this presidential scholarship, what qualities make you an outstanding applicant? Also address your developmental potential and your
intentions upon returning to your home country. (260 WORDS)
This is a very competitive scholarship for undergraduate students pursuing Software Engineering from developing countries and the judgement criteria include Academic
excellence, development potential and financial need and they require a ‘a polished, professional and persuasive application.’ They get thousands of equally well-
qualified students each year…These are the points to be addressed.
• How do you meet the criteria (Academic Excellence, Development potential, financial need)
• What you expect to gain from the opportunity of studying your course
• How you intend to use your experience/knowledge in the future
• Your professional experience/career aspirations
Furthermore, ‘development potential’ should be explained, specifically and in detail, how you envisage using the knowledge and experience gained from your course in
the development of your community/nation upon your return to your home country after completing. We’re particularly interested in looking towards the future, so
listing past achievements ain’t sufficient. The word-limit is there to see if you can present your case as a strong-one and with persuasion in 260 words.
Here are some helpful points so you could personalize it,:
1. “Academic Excellence:” Top gcse result with the most subjects at school, a regional distinction award for gcse ESL. Consistent grades in a-level….
2. “Financial need:” The total monthly costs of a US Education is almost thrice my dad’s monthly net income. Wouldn’t have been able to continue to higher education
with scholarship for high-school which was awarded on academic excellence in gcse’s. A first-generation college student… dependant siblings, one of them being mentally
unstable…
3. “Development potential”:…. plan to pursue a short AutoCAD course this summer which will lead to a locally-recognised vocational qualification….already have
professional experience working as graphic designer during vacations for some free-lance projects….which could be linked to the “financial-need” point because I
pursued it to bring in some extra-money to the house…. IT sector forefront of economic development…who knows maybe I become the founder of the next google or Facebook
😉
Please feel free to use/discard any of these points and add any of your own. Please contact me if you need any more personalized info. Thanks a lot. I need an
excellent essay and I’ve no time-constraints hence, the long deadline. The essay automatically passes through the institutions plagiarism check before it’s sent to the
committee for review therefore, plagiarism is a definite no-no on this one. I’d recommend every bidder to send me a piece of their previous work or a short draft as
well.
