Paper details:
Case Study relates to Chapter 2 Leadership and Chapter 3 Management and Motivation. Apply the concepts
and theories outlined in these chapters to do this real life case study. Either acting as a consultant to the
Supervisor or making believe you are the new Supervisor-what problems do you face? What issues have
you identified? What are your solutions? Clearly identify all the key problems and issues. Base your
discussion of the case on what you have learned from the text. So if describing a leadership style do not just
state something general such as, “strong leader” but use a strategy or method described in the text. i.e.
participative. coaching etc. In fact, use direct quotes from the text to expand and substantiate your
discussion. As quoted in the text pg. 367, “The case method is not only the most relevant and practical way to
learn managerial skills, it’s exciting and fun”. Use of case studies enables you to demonstrate that you
understand and can apply the concepts and strategies outlined in the text to this case study.
