1. Your fourth formal writing assignment is to write a persuasive/argumentative essay about how mass media has changed in the past 50 years. Define mass media and show how it has influenced and is influencing American culture. Develop three to five points supporting your argument using logic, quotes, examples, analogies, opinions, and/or outsides sources.
2. The essay should be 750 to 1,000 words (roughly 3 pages) and be double-spaced using 12 point font. Make sure your name is on the essay. Develop a title for your essay.
3. The essay should be thesis driven, the thesis clearly stated, and should have good support for the thesis.
4. You must use at least three sources for your essay. One must be a primary source,one must be a secondary source, and the third is your choice. Your essay must contain at least two properly cited quotes and must have a Works Cited page using proper MLA format.
5. Assessment will be based upon the strength of your thesis, relevant support, continuity, syntax, and diction.
