Animal Behavior Project Instructions and Rubric
Please read these instructions completely before beginning.
Description of an Animal Behavior (3 points total)
Using the knowledge that you have acquired in this course, go out into your environment and observe some animal behaviors. This can be done in a backyard, a park, a zoo, your living room, or anywhere else that you can witness an animal behavior.
- Describe what you have seen. Include all the necessary details that you need to demonstrate to the class what took place during your observation. Use at least 200 words (3 points)
Application of an Animal Behavior Observation to the Literature (4 points total)
Locate one peer-reviewed journal article from the Tarleton databases that relates to one of the behaviors that you observed. You may need to observe multiple animal behaviors before you find one that you can relate to the literature.
- Explain why the literature includes the behavior that you observed. Use at least 300 words (2 points)
- Include APA in-text citations in each part of your post where you bring in information from the journal article. Your source cannot be a website (psychology.com, Wikipedia, etc.). Here is a link to the TSU databases: http://www.tarleton.edu/library/databases.html
