A:
In 150-200 words, each group member is to comment on a different part of one of the images assigned to your group, and discuss this part of the image with a part of the first V cantos of The Inferno that you believe it applies (or could apply) to. As when discussing the image, each group member is to make sure he/she is discussing a different part of The Inferno.
In your discussion you are to refer to:
1) Specific details of the part of the image you choose.
2) One quotation which you feel corresponds to this part of the image.
3) How you feel about the representation. Do you agree with the artist’s choice? How does it make you feel? Is it effective?

Make sure you notes which painting (and which part of the painting) you are referring to, and also be sure to identify which section of The Inferno you believe connects to this image.
B:
In 100-150 words, respond, as meaningfully as you can, to following response:
The first image which is Cantos 1 corresponds with the beginning of the Book. This is when Dante’s journey begins. The green mountain in front of him is the mount of joy which represents heaven. The author describes this by stating “and lifted up my eyes. It’s shoulders glowed already with the sweet rays of that planet.”(Canto I, 16-17) In my opinion this is describing the exact moment when Dante was approaching the Mount of Joy which he calls it “Planet”. Since it is clear by the shadow that the sun is rising and the Mount of Joy is shown as enormous and delightful even from afar.
The Cantos 2 image is when Dante meets Beatrice. He praises her beauty and ask her to help him. The author states “She spoke and turned away to hide a tear that, shining, urges me faster. So I came and freed you from the beast that drove you there.”(Canto II, 115-117) This quote communicates this image because as it is shown that Beatrice is turning away from Dante while she is talking. In my opinion this image does match with the description in the book. This image also corresponds to how Beatrice is described in the book.
