Guidance
The essay should specially cover:
1. Shows critical understanding of the concept of multi-agency working and the difficulties in defining the concept. Show a critical understanding of the concept of integrated care.
2. Critically discusses how “multiagency working” amongst professionals is shaped by policy and legislation.
3. Use theory to critically explore multi-agency working in health and social care. For example, Townleys model or another appropriate model that you have found.
4. Critically discuss the benefits and the challenges of multi-agency working. Show why it is important and what the issues and potential solutions are.
5. Critically explore the role of multi-agency working in relation to reducing inequality and the effects of anti-discriminatory practice in relation to multi-agency working.
6. Relate your discussion to your practice using examples from practice and/or from the literature. So when you are talking about issues to do with multi agency working you could briefly link them to your own experience of this issue in your own practice or from examples from the literature for example Victoria Climbie, MAROCs, MASH, examples of integrated care or other examples. You are using these examples to illustrate a point. This is not a reflection – this is an academic essay where you use evidence from theory, research, books, your practice and examples from the literature to support what you are saying about multi agency work. Please focus on multi agency working – this is what this essay is about. Do not give excessive amounts of detail about any examples from your practice that you use. I don’t need to know about their age, gender, background, ethnicity or anything like that unless it is related to multiagency working. So the examples you use are illustrating points about MAW and should be concise and clear.
