The applied field of abnormal psychology is filled with different “schools of thought” when it comes to models of abnormality. Your textbook explores several different models, including cognitive, biological, behavioral, among others.
Write a 4-5 page APA style paper in which you provide analysis and insight into the current models of abnormality. Identify and explain the strengths and weaknesses of one model of abnormality that you, as a student, think best explains abnormal behavior.
Conversely, choose a different model that you think offers the poorest model of abnormality. Identify and explain the strengths and weaknesses of that model. Finally, compare and contrast the two models you chose and analyze the major differences between the two models.
In this compare and contrast section, you may compare the points that you found to be strengths and weaknesses, however you should also explore other aspects that were not noted previously in the paper.
Format: APA format includes a properly formatted title page and reference page. An abstract may be provided but is not required. Margins should be set to 1 inch on all sides. The content of your paper must be double-spaced and use 12 pt.
Courier or Times New Roman font. Papers must be saved as a Word document (.doc or .docx) to ensure that your professor can open your paper. Please note that the title page, reference page and abstract (if provided) do not count toward the page requirement for the assignment. Sources: You should use your textbook as one source. In addition to the textbook, your paper must include at least three other scholarly references from high quality sources.
