PAPER INSTRUCTIONS: “APPLICATION AND INSIGHT PAPER (AIP)
Students will write an Application & Insight Paper (AIP). AIP is written to further explore, apply, and articulate organizational behavior concepts. You must explore a topic related to those we?re covering in class within the reputed ?business practitioner journals?. Being from the business press means that the article was written for managers or for people in a functional specialty within a business (i.e., engineers, accountants, etc.) and relates to management topics. You should find 2 articles that demonstrate ideas that we?ve talked about in class and integrate them with what you?ve learned so far and present it as a coherent paper. The business practitioner journals that you may consult are: Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, California Management Review, Academy of Management Executive, and Academy of Management Perspective. Articles in all these journals are available online or in print through our library website. You must find at least 2 articles from these journals not including the articles listed on pages 6-8 of the syllabus. You may choose additional articles from any other journal, if you wish. The paper should focus on narrow topics (e.g., ?role of intrinsic rewards in employee motivation? as opposed to ?how to motivate employees?).
