This post has TWO Assignments:
1. LEADING THE CONGREGATION
Congregational Goals Discussion
Assimilation /Discipleship Concept Map Exercise
LEADING THE CONGREGATION,{ Caring for yourself While Serving The People}, BY ROGER HEUSER & NORMAN SHAWCHUCK
Analyze a congregation and propose sort-term and long-term ministry goals.
A church with ministry goals is a church that has not decided how they are going to accomplish their mission and purpose. Church goals will inform measurable ministry objectives. Church ministry leaders must learn how to set the bar for ministry goals to become effective. Ministry goals provide the link to pull together a plan like the Assimilation/Discipleship process you outlined in the previous exercise.
Congregational Goals Discussion
In the previous weeks you identified concepts concerning mission, vision, and core values. Analyze and discuss a local congregation that you know through the lenses of mission, vision, and core values and develop ministry goals.
From your analysis, develop three short-term goals for the church (to be completed within a year).
From your analysis, develop three long-term goals (to be completed in approximately five years).
2. Budget TImeline Concept Map Exercise
Describe a budget timeline by designing a concept-map that illustrates each step.
Finances are a very important function of ministry administration. Good stewardship of the resources the Lord provides to the church through the tithes and offerings of the congregation will help develop trust and confidence in the leadership of the church. Unfortunately, many churches do not use a ministry budget to fund ministries and manage resources. This learning activity is focused on designing a ministry budget timeline. It is very important that ministry leaders create a timeline to prepare the stakeholders, gather information, design, and execute the budget. Following a timeline will help every stakeholder know the timeline and understand the flow of the process. For this learning activity you will be creating a timeline concept-map in Word. You will need to use the Shapes function to help you create the needed to sections of your timeline. If you have never used the shapes and drawings function in Word there is a Microsoft help page.
