In your Case Study Report you will analyse and evaluate the policy response by government to a particular scenario and issue for children and families
Select a scenario for children in the UK (see examples below) and produce a Case Study where you analyse and evaluate the policy response under either the New Labour or the Coalition governments. Your case study should explain the importance and the significance of the issue for children, demonstrate critical analysis of the influences on government policy, provide analysis of the policy developments and critically evaluate the impact of policy on children, families and practitioners. You must apply theory relevant to early childhood studies to support your critical analysis and apply the theory of the social policy cycle throughout the Case Study. Your case study must be supported by citations and references to literature relevant to this module.

Your case study should focus on analysing social policy (relevant to your scenario) for a period of government. Select one of the following:
