Every day, there is a news story pertaining to environmental science in the newspapers, magazines, television, radio, and online. Select an article that pertains to that week’s topic with a 1-2 page assessment of your perspective on this issue (note: There are resources to New York Times articles). In particular, make sure you are not simply explain the problem being discussed, but show that you have researched the science behind it or possible solutions being proposed. Your discussion essay should reflect your thought and opinions. In summary, requirement of this assignment: 3. Find an article related to topics we have discussed in our class, e.g., biodiversity, evolution, ecology, tectonic plates, etc. 4. Summarize the article and write down you own understanding about the issue, e.g., what you have learned, what was surprised you, what was not surprised, etc.
