How might we make our own decisions intranshumanism world.
Who are transhumans and what is transhumanism? Basically, transhumanism is the belief or theory that humans have the potential to evolve beyond their current physical and mental boundaries. Pioneers and advocates for transhumanism believe that through innovations in science and technology the human race can reach its maximum potential. Transhumans are a currently theoretical species of homosapien who have abilities and skills far beyond those of current-day humans. Actual action towards Transhumanism is in its infancy, with research being mostly speculation and theory. Some have described it as classic Hamlet Syndrome. Hamlet Syndrome is when an individual spends too much time thinking about what they want to do and not enough time doing it. Lots of thought; no action. This often leads intelligent individuals to be unsuccessful. Not because they don’t have the drive, skills or abilities but more so because they are either afraid of failure, don’t know how to proceed or simply don’t do anything about their ideas. Work in transhumanism is quite like that. There is a lot of talk and speculation about how we could eventually shed our mere mortal simple human shells and transcend into beings who have greater power and intellect but there I very little action. There are good reasons for this however. There is the ethical question about how we are to create, or evolve into, transhumans. It is virtually impossible for us to reach this goal without experimentation. And experimentation comes at a cost. In this case, the cost will not be simply monetary but it will also be human lives. There will be inevitable failures, as there always are. The question we have to ask ourselves is: are we ready for that kind of sacrifice? Is there something so wrong with existing as we are, mortal and human? Is transhumanism the answer to the deeper-rooted issues that humans face?
Are we ever going to see any change in the realm of transhumanism.
