All school must have high expectations of all students, good quality teaching and learning, excellent leadership at all levels, a broad and balanced curriculum and a clear route for students to progress. But we know that not all schools are the same. Schools differ in the standards of education they achieve. So all the schools need to know their strengths and weaknesses and have incentives for improvement.
The aim of this assignment is to give student teachers (STs) an opportunity to learn about difficulties faced by teachers. It is also hoped that the Student teachers will learn to conduct simple research to collect information that can then be incorporated into professional development plans of schools, to move the schools to where they want them to be.
For the assignment student teachers (STs) have to do a survey, (at least 15 teachers from the either primary or secondary) to find out about teacher difficulties in at least 5 different areas( E.G: lesson planning ,questioning ,explaining, assessment and group work). Analyze the data suggest possible solutions based on reading. Compile a report to include the following.
You have to make questionnaires for 5 chosen areas( 5 chosen areas means areas you should get survey in this survey include 5 areas for teacher difficulties (you can make 3 or 4 questionnaires)
An introduction: A paragraph for each of the 5 chosen area and a paragraph on participants (1-2 pages)
Results and discussion: summarise your findings, in words and graphically (like pie chart, bar graph etc) what are the possible reasons for your findings and give your recommendations as how to improve the present situation.

Marks are allocated as follows (total 25 marks)
Information seeking/ selecting (10 marks) Students gathered information from a variety of relevant quality electronic and print sources
Analysis & synthesis (10 marks) Students carefully analysed the information collected and drew appropriate conclusions supported by evidence. Ideas/ thinking and examples have depth, and are elaborated upon. Information is logically and creatively organized with smooth transitions.
Clarity: use of language, clarity of explanation (5 marks) The language is clear, precise and expressive and in own words. Vocabulary is appropriate.
