Please share your thoughts about the following two topics:
1) The New Gardner Building:
Did the tearing down of the Carriage House break the will? Was it worth getting rid of to provide the visitor services now available? What about moving a few pieces of sculpture to open up an entrance to the Palace via the “Link”? The modern architecture of the new building vs. the antiquity of the Palace?
2) Viewing Works of Art at the Gardner:
Do do experience works of art differently at the Gardner than at conventional museums like the Museum of Fine Arts? Do you prefer one presentation to the other? If so….why?
