Final Project
Due Friday, June 30, by 11:59 PM
– For this project, you will complete a Roman Numeral analysis of Bach’s Prelude in C
Major from The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I. The guidelines are as follows:
– As indicated on the score, there is only one chord present per measure. I have marked
exactly where each Roman Numeral should go.
– EVERY pitch in each major is a chord tone (no non-chord tones are present).
– When approaching each measure, take an inventory of each different pitch, stack
the notes into thirds, and you will be able to see each harmony in root position.
– I have answered the chords that we have not had a chance to cover.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
