you are a Pharmacy Business Consultant and are required to produce a business report for one of your clients (the owners of Besthealth Pharmacy), providing advice on how to improve the business performance of the pharmacy. The pharmacy owners have supplied you with business information (see below). Drawing on the theoretical content from this semester’s lectures and tutorials, complete the Balance Sheet, and calculate the appropriate financial accounting ratios to analyse the pharmacy’s profitability, operating efficiency, financial stability, and cash flow. Discuss the current business performance of the pharmacy by drawing comparisons to industry benchmarks (industry benchmark figures have been supplied for you from the Guild Digest) and then suggest ways to improve the profitability of the pharmacy. The Guild Digest 2014 has been provided for you (I appreciate that it is somewhat out of date) and you are recommended to read other pharmacy business journals and magazines to support your arguments. You will also be expected to discuss marketing strategies, complete a category management sales report (some of the category management figures are missing – you will need to calculate these) and make suggestions to improve the pharmacy’s category management, general inventory management processes and merchandising. Include any other suggestions you may have regarding how this pharmacy could improve its financial performance.
