Section 2: Reflecting on Practice with Others
Reflective practice promotes school-wide success for all stakeholders, including staff, faculty, students, parents, and community members. Reflective practice can lead to empowerment, collective responsibility for student achievement, share values, effective communication, interdependence of operations, positive change, and improved trust and respect. These lofty aims are well within the reach of any organization promoting reflection and personal and professional growth.

Assignment 5 Week 5: Applying New Reflective Practice Techniques
In what sort of group, team, or school-wide reflective practice activities have you participated? After reviewing the chapters for this activity, think of two or three new reflective practice techniques that you think would be beneficial for your school. How might these activities transform the attitudes of those who are resistant to reflective practice?

Spotlight on Skills: Developing a PowerPoint Presentation
In this activity you will prepare a Power Point Presentation. For help in using this tool, review this PowerPoint Tutorial.
Pre-Activity:
1. Review the assigned chapters noted above in the activity resources.
2. Use the NCU Library, and or other resources you may find helpful to research more detail regarding reflective practice techniques.
3. Review the Spotlight on Skills: Developing a PowerPoint Presentation.
Main Task: Create a Professional Development Presentation
After reading and thinking about reflective practice in this course, create a professional development presentation that you could share with your principal at your next annual review. Include the following in your presentation:
? Describe at least three ways that in which you would like to grow in your professional reflective practice techniques in the next year.
? Include the specific outcomes you anticipate as a result of your reflective practice.
? Include the specific resources you will need to actualize your plan.
? Explain how you will evaluate the success of your professional development plan.
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as ?speaker notes? for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.
Support your presentation with at least 3 scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.
Length: 12-15 slides (with a separate reference slide)
Notes Length: 100-150 words for each slide
Be sure to include citations for quotations and paraphrases with references in APA format and style where appropriate. Save the file as PPT with the correct course code information.
