Part A: Abraham is the archetype for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. After reading and reflecting upon Genesis 22 (page 511), Judges 11: 29-40, and Deuteronomy 7 1-6, and ?Abraham as Prometheus? in the Judaism chapter (pages 513-7), comment upon the following questions: Does religious behavior require immoral behavior such as child marriage, child sacrifice, murder, incest, assassination, suicide bombing or genocide? Is morality independent of God’s commands? Part B: Abraham of Genesis 22 (page 511) is a man of obedience. Abraham as Prometheus (pages 513-17) is a man of morality. Which one is a better role model for us today? Should we emulate the virtue of obedience that Hilter, Stalin, and Mao would affirm or should we emulate the virtue of disobedience because of morally such as John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Maclam X?
