Restorative justice is an alternative to the traditional charging process of a criminal case. In it, the victim is empowered to play a role in the decisions impacting the defendant(s). Research focuses on the most current information (past five to ten years) except when citing seminal works (e.g. Freud, Erikson, etc.).
