RISK MANAGEMENT ASSIGNMENT 2
The context
You are currently reviewing a project you have worked on. As part of this review
it is necessary to reflect on (critically analyse) the risk management practices adopted in the project.
If you do not have a workplace project that you can draw upon, find a case study in the literature that you can critique. The findings of your reflections (critical analysis) are to be presented in a report format that includes the findings of your critical analysis and subsequent recommendations. You are required to examine the risk management literature to inform your critical analysis. It is suggested that you use figures and tables where relevant to support your analysis and recommendations.
The total length of your report is to be approx. 3,500 to 4,000 words.
The structure of your report is as follows:
Cover sheet (course details, author details, date, etc.)
Executive summary [200 to 300 words but not counted in word count] • To indicate the nature of the report, background details, research findings and recommendations where appropriate, and to function as a stand-alone document

1. Introduction [150 – 200 words] • Provide an explanation of the reason for preparing the document and a brief summary of the contents
2. Organisational context [150 – 200 words] • Provide details of the project to understand the context of the analysis
3. Risk management process [550 – 600 words] • Critically analyse the overall risk management processes/ frameworks/ principles adopted by the project.
4. Risk identification [550 – 600 words]
• Critically analyse the identification of risk within your chosen project. Areas may include tools and techniques used for identification, stakeholders and communication (relating to risk identification), and risk definition.
• It is recommended to include samples or extracts of actual risk identification tools using content that would have been relevant for your chosen project.
5. Risk analysis and evaluation [550 – 600 words]
• Critically analyse the analysis and evaluation of risk within your chosen project. Areas may include tools and techniques used for risk analysis and evaluation.
• It is recommended to include samples or extracts of actual risk analysis/evaluation tools using content that would have been relevant for your chosen project.
6. Risk treatments [550 – 600 words] • Critically analyse the treatment of risk within your chosen project. Consider the suitability of the chosen treatments, the implementation of the treatments, re-evaluation/residual risk.
7. Risk management integration [550 – 600 words] • Critically analyse how risk management was integrated with broader project management practices in the project. How did the other project management areas impact (positive or negative) the risk management? How did the risk management impact (positive or negative) other areas of the project management? Was this integration working effectively?
8. Findings & Recommendations [450 – 600 words] • Describe the findings of your critical analysis in the form of lessons learned with recommendations for future projects and/or changes to the organisation’s risk management approach. You should include reference to knowledge management tools which may assist in embedding these recommendations

• It is recommended that you use at least 12 quality references in your critical analysis. These should be resources you have actually cited in your critical analysis.
