Read the case study “The Delhi Metro Project: Effective Project Management in the Indian Public sector” and answer two of the following questions: 1. ‘Failing to plan, is planning to fail’. Critically discuss the importance of project planning with specific reference to the Delhi Metro project. 2. Critically discuss if Sreedharan’s (Project Manager) job was made more difficult because this was a public sector project, identify the problems that are peculiar to public sector projects in comparison with projects executed for the private sector, and manifest these problems in the Delhi Metro project. 3. Critically discuss if the success of the Delhi Metro project depended on the management and leadership skills of its project manager. 4. According to the case study, most projects in India do not manage their stakeholders efficiently. Critically discuss how important is the management of stakeholders in a project.
