Scenario You are supporting an older woman Ms. Sharma who has physical disabilities so that she needs support with day-to-day tasks. During your visit, she tells you that she has been feeling particularly low for quite some time. Ms. Sharma talks about feeling lonely and that no one has visited her in the past month with the exception of your and other staff members’ visits. You are aware that isolation and loneliness can have negative effects on mental health and wellbeing so you are keen to ensure that this woman has access to opportunities and lifestyles that promote her wellbeing. This task requires you to write an essay based on the case scenario above that demonstrates how the principles of care are applied in practice. TASK TWO: Report on improving practice (LO2 ,3 and 4 all AC’s and M2, M3, D1, D2, D3)
Written Report in three parts Part 1 Legislation, Policies and Procedures Part 2 Theories underpinning health and social care practice Part 3 Your role in promoting good practice Scenario You are a newly appointed Care Manager to ABC residential care home and need to produce a report to the Board of Directors on the impact of legislation, policies and procedures and how theory is applied in practice within the care home setting. The report includes three sections. In the first section you need to explain policy implementation and an evaluation of its impact to the residential care home. The second part deals with the theories underpinning health and social care practice and the final section concerns your role in the development of policy and the implementation of good practice. To assist you with the writing of the report you could research the following sources of information: Workplace documents such as; policies, handbooks, manuals, regulations and procedures as well as a copy of General Social Care Code of Practice for care worker and National Minimum Standards for Care (CQC) or any other relevant document.
